Sleeping Soundly, for SF Zine Fest 2019
Sleeping Soundly was a project that came to fruition after hours of reading r/TrueScaryStories. My zine is inspired by a story recounted by a girl who sleepwalks. One night, after having no memory of getting out of bed, she wakes up and finds herself in the middle of her backyard at 2 or 3 in the morning. She turns around and sees that the backdoor is open, and quickly runs inside. She never tells her parents, and says the moment has stuck with her even in adulthood.
In my rendition, I thought it would be interesting to include a spirit calling to her in her dream, encouraging her to go outside.
